Have you kissed a fish today?

Spring Fishing>

You have to keep your eye on water temperatures carefully, looking for the warmest water you can find that isn't muddy. Stripers do not like muddy water and will stay ahead of it as it washes into the reservoir after spring rains. Our striper and hybrids cannot spawn successfully but, they make an attempt to spawn. Most mature fish start moving toward their spawning grounds, usually in the upstream of the dam, when the lake warms into the lower 50s . Spawning activity takes place when the water temps. reaches around 67 degrees F.

As they move, stripers stop and feed along key main-lake structures. Especially long, slow tapering points that connect with the deep river channel. They also feed on humps in main channels, a good plan is to drag bait near shore early switch to cut bait in 10-20 feet of water late morning and then work humps and points later. As the thermal cline reestablishes these humps you have found a few fish on can become hot spots for catching a limit. Some fish may stay on points and spawn there rather than move into the headwaters.

Some thoughts on chartering a trip!

*Book as far in advance as you can.
*Have at least three dates in mind if you can.
*To book your trip conatct me(706-855-2944) and set date. If you choose you can mail your charter fee or you can pay by credit card by coming back to this page.
*If you pay by credit card and are fishing more than on day multiply number in party by number of days and enter that in the appropriate box.
*Sure you have heard, "No Fish No Pay" That is an old guides trick I do not play. If your charter has less than three fish your next trip is half off. My goal is for you to have a great trip and produce great word of mouth business so I always will make up a slow trip with a better charter at half price.
*To request date just click "Request Date" at bottom of this page. I will contact you soon.
